There is a girl I know who is only a casual "friend"??
She never comes over or wants to go hang out with me.
But she will call every few days, about 11:30 pm just to
brag about where she's been, who she's dating, etc.
Or, she IM's me very late ( bored? ) just to say she is
putting her kid to bed and she's tired, and say's goodnight.
What should I do, this is getting pretty old by now.....
PS. She never invites me to go out with just me & her,
she knows I don't like her weirdo friends....But yet,
she keeps this communication.......????

sorry, i'll be quick...no she can't be embarrassed being seen with me in public.
I happen to be 50 times prettier. I think it's
a little of what everyone is saying here.....&

Maybe she beleives you are her only NORMAL friend.

Well if you want to be her friend then you cannot bad mouth her other friends, and why dont you try to invite her out? Or contact her at a decent hour and brag about things you have done. If you make an effort to befriend her, she will notice it, and if you are compatable as friends it will all come together, if not, Ill be your friend!

well it might mean that she wants to be in touch with you but knowing you dont like her wierdo friends is keeping you away from them...
it might also mean that she considers you as someone to compete with on the social front...
if it annoys you why dont u tell her to call u during day time..tell her firmly that you need ur beauty sleep and hates it when anyone calls while you are at it...
as for you...quit worrying about her...she just might not be worth it..

Next time she calls or im's you tell her Great!!! then hang up or log off. don't give the time of day and pretty soon you'll stop hearing from her.

if you are sick and tired of her and dont wnat to communicate anymore, just dont reply to her messages and dont answer her calls, simple. some people like having heaps of friends even if they arent close to most of them. maybe this girl is like that. she sounds very self centered.

just tell her that you are tired of her bragging about everything. she doesn't want you as a friend, only an ear.

i would say she feels like she has no real friends and you're the only one she feels like she can trust, but she might be ashamed of you, thus not going out with you in public.
