Its probably due to the drop in estrogen that happens during menopause. The Mayo Clinic site discusses some of the signs and symptoms of menopause, one of which is growing coarse hair on your chin and/or upper lip. This is because your body still continues to produce testosterone (male hormone) even though you're producing less estrogen (female hormone).

women start to grow chin hair after 45yrs due to the menopause the fact is the our female hormones start to decline, so we start to grow hair and as we get older our voices grow deeper

Some women have hair on their face since the age of 13! It's just due to the different levels of testosterone in different women.

hormone changes but not all woman,,, and sometimes after having a hysterectomy , woman are supposed to take hormones and sometimes they choose not 2

my mum's above 45. she DOESN'T have hair growing on her chin. Neither do my Aunts or my Grannies.
