The truth is that when a woman wants to become engaged, any old way will do, because the end result is the same. However, if you want to be a darling, just do anything that shows you put some thought into it. A woman loves that you have planned things out (because so few men do this willingly or often.) If you remember where your first date was, that's ususally a romantic thing to a woman, and that's as good a place as any to pop the question. Otherwise, a very nice restaurant that she's been dying to try, or if she's the type that would like it, a very, very public place that shows her you are proud of her and your love for her. A lot of it depends on her personality type. But you can't go wrong by just planning something and showing that you cared what it was like.

First I'd want him to make 100% sure that there'd be a 99% chance that I'd say yes because I'd feel horrible having to say no to him, and then to answer your question: it would be nice on a trip planned somewhere exotic and cool or like on the Eiffel Tower, but it would be cool also to be completely spontaneous, like on a hike while looking at awesome scenery or something. I hate stupid cheesy movie proposals, such as at a dinner or publicly, it is better at a special, memorable spot. It would be good to be proposed to traditionally- like just him say your name, then get down on one knee and do the thing...idk, but just make sure the girl would want to say yes, cause otherwise she'll feel horrible.

This is a sad answer, but it was a great idea. My husband bought his ex wife a leather jacket and had the ring in the pocket. It really surprised her. I wish he would have done something as thoughtful for me, the jerk! Whatever you do, just do it, dont just get married. Do the whole fairy tale thing. Your girl will love and remember it always.

It would have to be at a place that has meaning for us. For example where we first met, first kissed etc etc. Just by him being honest. I would not want him to say something like "if you marry me, i promise we will never fight etc etc" Be realistic do not promise the moon and the stars when you know you cannot get them for her.
