It has to look right for the car. American Racing Torque-Thrusts would look great on a classic muscle car if you want a traditional look, but they would be absolutely out of place on a Mitsubishi 3000GT. The 3000GT would look good with some sort of 17"-18" wheels that had five or seven thin spokes. Those wheels that look good on the Mitsu in turn would look completely absurd on a Triumph Spitfire, which might look good with Minilites or Dayton wire wheels.

It really depends on the car. There is no right rim for every car.

It depends on the car. If its a tuner (import cars from asia) then maybe 5-spoke rims or sometimes spinners would look good but on the old school cadillacs, it would be the 100 spoke rims and for vans, probably stock unless its SUVs where spinners would look the best

There is a huge variety of excellent brand for rims. The brands that I'm going to recommend you are heavily involved in motorsports, some are even the official rim suplier for several F1 teams. So here it goes: Enkein (www.enkei.com), O.Z. Racing Wheels (www.oz-racing.de), BBS (www.bbs.com), Volk Wheels (www.rayswheels.co.jp), HRE (www.hrewheels.com), TSW (www.tsw.com), Konig (www.konigwheels.com), Ro-JA (www.rojawheels.com), 5Zigen (www.5zigenusa.com)

Check them all out and find the style and design that sutis you best. They are all amazing wheels and are great, great quality. I personally have a set of Volk SF Challenge 18" by 9" installed in my car and I have to say I'm amazed by the finish, the quality, the material and the look. Of course I've always liked simpler wheels that aren't too flashy or with chrome.... I love them to look like racing wheels, few spokes so you can see the brakes. Anyway, I hope that I helped you out ok. Enjoy the eye candy!

I like a rim that is organic, not a lot of straight lines and has good depth and contrast, lots of chrome, no paint or bicolors or spinners. NO Gold or gems. NO ghetto.
