Sounds like we have a similiar problem...I call it the control freak....
Unless you both, previously agreed to spend a certain amount of time together watching tv, why do you have to be told to watch tv, just because he is?
If he needs to know what rude is.....then I believe he is rude and selfish, he is doing what he wants, but wants to tell you what to do with your time.

The two of you are clearly bored...When you are newly involved it is important that you both sit together and do the same thing for entertainment, whether that mean that you both watch the same television program, or read the same newspaper together. As a relationship develops, and you get a little more comfortable with each other, you should be able to do different things for entertainment. It's fine to be in the same room, while one reads or sews and the other watches t.v. He should not make you feel like you have to entertain him, and you shouldn't feel like you are being rude if you are comfortably doing some other activity while enjoying an evening together.

That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Tell him he can't watch TV if you're sewing, then.
Seriously, that is moronic. I would lose my mind!

most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, unless of course you're Muslim, then you have to do what your husband tells you to.
