To be honest, getting them done professionally can sometimes only cost like 10 dollars and there do a fabulous job. However, I always pluck my own so I understand where you are coming from. I heard somewhere to never really touch the top part of your eyebrow because the hair needs to remain on the natural arch of your brow. Take a comb or toothbrush and brush all your eyebrow hairs up towards you scalp and then slowly pluck the ones that seem too low. I used to consult magazines and pick our my favorite eyebrows. The key to not overplucking is to pluck a few on one side and then a few on the other and then walk away from the mirror and then turn around and watch yourself as you walk back (yeah, it sounds like model style but it works!) That gives you a sense of what you are doing because if you remain up close to the mirrow you can't really see your whole face and how the plucking is affecting it. I've overplucked before and it made my whole face look fat because my eyebrows are thich and dark like yours are and they balance it out. No one really looks good with thin, fake shaped eyebrows because that is never natural. You want to create the affect that you haven't really done anything at all. **** luck and happy plucking!

Just pluck from underneath, never from the top...take a few at a time until they start looking good to you. Sometimes you can't get a look that you want because your eyebrows just won't do that...so go with the shape of your natural eye brows...I wouldn't overpluck but just try to go for a "clean" look and stick with the natural look you have if you know what I mean. Nothing looks worse than ending up with that "SURPRISED" look or "ANGRY" look or worse that "CLOWN" look because you over did it!!!! :~)

use white eyeshadow to perfectly arc your eyebrows the way you want them. and then with your eyebrow pluck, pluck the hairs that are within the white eyeshadow are. you might have to keep applying the white eye shadow because it may brush off as you pluck. once you are done, take a qtip or napkin and dab it in vaseline and wipe the area where you plucked; this soothes it

I get my eyebrows threaded at an Indian salon for $7.
I love this technique because it's very precise and the results are better than waxing! Check your area for Indian Threading Salons.
This technique has been around forever and it's a popular choice here in NYC.

Find a picture in a magazine of what you want and follow that as you pluck your eyebrows. Try to find a model with a similar shaped face to yours.

yah hon, u really need to go to a salon(theres a GREAT one at nordstrom)and get them there. u sould rifle through some mags tho to find a person with eyebrows that u like, cut out the HOLE FACE! don't just do the eyebrow it's real hard 4 the person to do it that way. just take out the face, or as much of it as u can around the eyebrow. then just go to the salon at nordstrom (or another one, but like i sed nordstrom is real great!) and get it dun! p.s. it doesn't hurt a bit!

Whatever you do, do not go for the super thin "surprised" eyebrows. Those are terrible!
