This is not a s"sure fire" plan... but definitely read the book "Lucky Man"... The biography of Michael J Fox... It chronicles his struggles and adventures toward becoming a star.
You should enjoy it especially being a fellow Canadian. (I advise non-Canadians to read it as well!)
