Nirvana hands down... Godsmack is one of thee most untalented bands there ever was... Nirvana was a groundbreaking band!!!

Nirvana.. all the way! Not the "huge" fan I used to be, but Nirvana is "all that" compared to godsmack.

Nirvana....never cared much for godsmack
If it weren't for the Vaselines though....Nirvana would of had only half as many good tunes as they did.

Wasn't recognized?!?!! are you f'n kiddin me! i was a teen when they hit the air and remember distinctly how popular they were when Nevermind came out. That is utter crap that they gained all their popularity after his death. They were pretty much one of the first bands to make it big for the whole Seattle sound that started up in the mid 90's them along with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc.

godsmack..no offense to nirvana lovers but nirvana isnt that great and wasnt recognized until kurt cobain killed himself...you really only here a few of there songs they are your basic one hit wonders who made it because the singer killed himself...

Doesnt it really depend on Preference? i like Nirvana, but I cant say they're BETTER than anything. someone else may think they're the worst band ever...its all preference
