aside from all the thigns you should...make sure you're equpiment is good. Make sure you have a good grip, try a dampener...maybe loosen your strings (will allow you to swing easier), and check the grip size. One mistake people always make is using a grip that's too big for them.

Assuming you haven't suffered any structural damage or broken any bones, just rest it and don't play tennis for awhile. Most of my knowledge of hand injuries is from boxing and similar sports, which obviously have more potential for broken bones in the hand than tennis. Ice and ibuprofen will help the swelling and the pain. If ice, pain meds and rest doesn't do the trick you should see a doctor but 9 times out of 10 you'll be fine. Maybe someone with a more specific knowledge of the sport can suggest equipment that might be easier on your hands (I'd imagine that a racket made from harder materials like wood would be more likely to cause hand pain than some of the newer, lighter materials but that's just a guess).

There are so many small bones in the hand...be careful.....try the RICE method...but if in a day or two your hand is swollen get to the doctor...even if something isn't broken you can still damage tendon, muscle tissue.if something is broken the longer you wait the more damage is done...you could even lose circulation in extreme cases...but definately start RICE and go from there.....Rest Ice Compress Elevate...good luck

R.I.C.E.
Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate keep stretching the sore muscles...by pulling fingers, and turning your hand...
if you leave it alone, it will go stiff, then you will have an even bigger pain.
try not to play tennis, or do anything strenuous with your hand for a couple of days, if possible

This probably is RSI, Repeated Strain Injury, aka "Tennis Ellbow". Go to an orthopaedic, get an epicondylitis-clamp. PLAY LESS TENNIS! U can easily cripple yourself with this to complete immobility. Are you willing to accept this?

Rest your hand for one week, and then play again. If it still hurts go to a doctor.

From playing tennis? Get real - we know you're lying
If you'd just stop whacking your 'balls' around for 5 minutes.....

Get that hand looked at. It should not be swelling up without some trauma to it that you most likely would have remembered.

i think you should play tennis upto a restricted time and should also visit a doctor if the pain is unbearable.
wish you all the best for your game.
