A hickey is the result of broken blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. The only way to get rid of it, is through time. It must heal.

Crazy as this may sound...I have purposely took a curling iron and touched the hickey, for like 1/2 a second! I knew my parents would have flipped out and be very upset. It didn't hurt much and it totally looked like a burn, rather than a hickey. The redness of the burn went away in like 2-3 days...I can't remember. Funny thing is...I am kind of clumsy anyway, so nobody every questioned it!

Make sure you are getting enough vitamin C.

Vitamin C builds up callogen, which inturn thickens blood vessels in the skin which helps to heal and prevent bruising. A hicky is nothing more than a bruise that is "man made". It may or may not heal any you have now, but may help prevent them in the future, or heal those in the future quicker.

Tincture of Arnica may also help. It helps to promote healing. It has to be applied directly to the wound.

Vitamins E and A may also help to heal the skin tissue.

Instead of ice, try a warm compress of sage tea.

Put a cold spoon to the area (keeps bruise or "evidence" from spreading) for about 20 min on, 10 off. The next 48 hrs, apply moist heat (warm cloth) to dilate the blood vessels. It's just like shaking a bruise.

I am sorry but I don't think there is any way. I used to try everything-- ice, makeup, the works but nothing ever worked. When all else fails, go for the scarf/turtleneck/choker trick, but keep in mind that parents usually catch on.
