My boyfriend bought a 96 Pontiac Sunbird for his stepson. First two days the car started w/no problems, but third day the battery was completly dead. He thinks that is because the anti theft system is activated and the fact it remains on at all times- is the cause of battery going dead. We wouldn't have used anti theft system anyway and have no clue how to engage or disengage it. Anyone have a clue? Does this make sense? Thanks

Use a search bar like the one on this and nearly every network page.

Type in Pontiac Sunbird 1996 deactivate theft protection. Click Enter.

If this generates 0 hits, try Searching the Car and make and year alone.

so the car alarm made the battery die, shouldn't alot of ppl have the same problem then.
Chances are the battery was on its last legs when he bought it
or the alternater is bad
or there is a short somewhere that is draining the battery
most car alarm only activate when a swich is opened i.e. opening the door.
