How do I create a Good Band Name for my band?

they kind of relied on me to get one and im no good at it can u help?

Make it something that is different and unique but that means something at the same time - not just anything - like the most out there, etc - what kind of music is it, what do you believe in, what do you want your music to bring to people, what does the beat or rhythm make you feel? Write a bunch of words down on paper and brainstorm - one after the other and don't think about it and you may have some luck that way. Really we need to know what genre it is to help more so give more info pwease :o)

Well people normally pick names that dont make sense, like My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, Armor For Sleep, Panic! At The Disco, Colors like, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Yellowcard, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, time like Sum 41, Story Of The Year, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday or things like The Used, Unwritten Law. Just Get creative people choose random words too, like Recover, Finch, Thrice, Jet, Pulley stuff like that. Just think of a crazy word you like. Put two crazy words that are complete opposites and put them together, pick a color and something else. Just take those examples. Hope I've helped!!

I got a formula check it out.

First try only 4 or 5 letters max. So you can write it really big.
something easy to spell, something that everybody knows what it means and how to pronounce it, and try for something with cool letters in it, like Z or X or M. I swear this formula is great. You might think using 2 words sounds better, but people will forget your name. My band was called Apothecary for years all I heard was "Apothe-what?"
Perfect example is MUSE. their name means nothing, but it sticks with you.

2nd idea is "The..."
The Killers and The Seatbelts are my favorite "the's." Pick an everyday word with a cool connotation and imagery. In other words, your album cover is gonna look good.

My mate has a massive floor lamp made out of wicker. It freaked me out the other week when it was making weird creaky noises for what seemed to be no reason, until I realised it was the heat of the lightbulb "expanding the wicker". Now there's a good name for a band.

Just like "Wet Toad Sprocket", which is already a great band.

i was in a few bands when i was younger and sometimes we used to take words and spell them backwards and change some letters...sometimes they would be funny but cool,,,
like condom backwards is modnoc..change the c to a k youve got MODNOK...HAHAHA! that would be awesome for a metal band!
anyway you can do what the grateful dead supposedly did...take a dictionary and pick two words with your eyes closed.....
just remember the stranger the name...the cooler you are!

I think catchy and simple can catch peole attention. Add some humor

For example- kool aid kats, 3 burritos club, fire Jalapeños, Akademics, Rock for less, 5 dollar scholars, smelly underware... need more email me :)

Think of what kind of music your band plays, I mean what feeling does your music instill?
Then you could look up another word for that, or a lesser used word.

be creative....use something that has had to do with your past....like jimmy eat world...they got theyre name cuz one of the guys had a 2 younger bros...jimmy and something else...jimmy was the older and bigger one who would always beat him up...and one day the younger bro drew and picture of him eating the world and he titled it jimmy eat world...so...just be creative with...even if its random its still a good band name...try using an inside joke or something
