Do you have any tips, ideas or products that would help me keep my car windows streak-free? I've used Armor-all, as well as windex wipes, but I never seem to have a streak-free window.

Do not use ammonia on automotive glass, although that's OK for other types, it will cause pitting of the glass. Newsprint is OK to use if it is blank, but normal newsprint uses carbon powder on mineral oil, and will streak windows badly.

Many professional detailers only use a towel wrung in hot water to clean the glass, then follow by buffing the glass with a clean dry towel...this guarantees no chemicals will affect the glass and cause damage or streaking. Make sure your hands are clean and dry before buffing so oils are not smeared as you buff.

If you are cleaning glass that is very dirty, mix a cup of plain white vinegar in a gallon of hot water with above directions.

Also, you'll find it is easiest to get the glass clean if your car is in a well-lit shady area, but not in direct sunlight.

Use the foam areosal cleaner with newspapers, lots of newspapers and no windex spray or any type of wipes. Clean both inside and out and use alot of paper, crumple up a handle and wipe away.

use a newspaper instead of a paper towel for a streak-free finish, and really all you need is some water with ammonia in it
