Linus, you might get best answer because I meant everything you said!

Yes I do, because this country allows me to disagree & not go along with the program. I remember the founding fathers who made the CONSTITUTION allowing the freedom to disagree because you want your country to be BETTER.

Maybe you didn't mean it, but by reading between the lines, I see people calling others un-American because we disagree with what is going on. I don't remember many Democrats calling Republicans un-American when Clinton was in office. If you didn't mean that, then I apologize. If you did, then get off of it. It's ridiculous, as well as ignorant.

If you truly get enjoyment out of this kind of baiting, then you certainly are an idiot. But then again, so are many liberals, libertarians, commies, fascists, and theocrats. Stupidity has no party lines.

Both my son and I have served our country to protect the right to be an idiot that you so boringly exercise today. I'll give you the same answer I did in your other question (Did you forget you'd already asked it? Or was your memory just impaired by the alcohol or drugs?) Somehow I've got the feeling you're not quite old enough to vote and serving your country so far has consisted of yelling "Yeee Haw!" when your favorite singer sings something you consider to be a patriotic song.

I own and fly several.

One is on the uniform that I wore while in the service of my country thirty years ago during a war that I thought was wrong and destructive.

Another is from the uniform my son wore fighting, and taking a bullet for our country last year in a war that we both think is wrong and destructive.

Wanna make something of it tough guy?

The United States USED to be about opportunity, equality, and fairness in foreign and domestic affairs alike.

Now the moral code and approach to the world has turned into something out of a comic book or "wrestling" soap opera. While I don't think that progressives or liberals have all the answers, it's idiotic to suggest that pointing out your country's flaws and areas needing improvement means you hate your country.

Someday you may have children - by your reasoning if you love them and care deeply about them you'll never tell them when they do anything wrong, never try to teach them a better way, and never try to show them moral courage and leadership.

Good luck with that...

My office is peppered with pictures of robots with one odd picture by Chinese propagandists, showing chinese students enthusiasticly saluting, with the caption, "Have a Very Very Nice Day!!!!" I have Japanese artwork up in my home, Mexican Catholic candles on the mantle, racist Aunt Jemima salt and pepper shakers on my stove, antique Soviet prints in matching frames, a dogs playing poker calendar and a big ceramic dinosaur popping out of an egg that my bird likes to chew on. I have an old Persian rug that a great-grandma bought, weird bronze and nickle Shiva cutlery and a cheap Rembrandt. I also have a plastic lobster and a red and blue striped tie with a McCarthy campaign button on it. I have pictures of old lithographs of my forebears who have been in this country since before it was a country. And I don't own a flag.

I am a "lib", and have no flag. Flags are symbols of nations, and nations are changeable (the U.S. is different politically and demographically than it was in 1964). As a "lib", I want to be able to change my views as I learn new things. Thus I don't care much for unchanging symbols; I have no tatoos.

How many of these flag questions are you going to post?? You must be a very shallow minded individual if you judge people on if they own an American flag or not.

I own a Betsy Ross-style Old Glory. I think it is a great-looking flag

I damn do fly it, and according to Government regulations. I may not like the President, but I haven't abandoned my country.

Yes, because it's a symbol of my freedoms, and yes, I do. The Declaration of Independence guarantees liberty for all. It's what the nation is founded on.
