-- through the router?
this is what I have:
Mac OS X, system 10.4.7
HP Media Center, Windows Xp
HP photosmart 7350
Westell Versalink 327W router
Verizon DSL hooked up to the router

Right now I have the pc connected to the printer. I tried connecting both computers to the printer but that didn't work. I'd like to be able to print from either computer. The computers are next to each other so I'd like to do everything with wires. Right now I have both computers connected to the router, so I am getting internet on both, no problem.. just need to get from my mac to the printer. Is this possible? Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you!

2 computers , one ordinary printer with no networking capability.
ideal situation and the ideal answer is a print server...
A print server ensures you can print from more than 1 computer at the same time to a normal printer.
but remember the drawbacks... not all printers support a print server.and if the printer is "all-in-one" only the printing capability is supported.the others (fax, scan) go down.

so saying, the conditions are satisfied,
buy a wired or wireless print server , set it to fixed IP address matching your router IP range.
connect the printer to print server
make sure printer is installed on mac and PC as a normal printer attched to the computer.
open LPR ports on PC and MAC .

(any time the comp asks for printer name or IP, its the IP of the print server...the protocol will be LPR and the queue name can be LPT1)

and voila...both will print to the print server...
try print server tech support for setting this LPR ports if you are not sure (go linksys, coz they have free tech support- but they dont support MAC)
