Fifth part : x/5
Increased by five : +5
Equal : =
Fourth part : x/4
Diminished by five: -5
x/5+5=x/4-5 : Mulitply both sides by 20
4x+100=5x-100 : Add 100 to both sides
4x+200=5x : Subtract 4x from both sides
200=x
I think that's about as clear as it gets

(1/5) x + 5 = (1/4) x -5
(1/4 - 1/5) x = 10
(1/20)x = 10
x = 20 * 10
x = 200

Suppose x is a certain number.
the number whose fifth part increased by 5 means
1/5*x+5 ...................................(1)
Its forth part diminished by 5 means
1/4*x-5 ...................................(2)
now,let us equalise eq.(1) & eq.(2),we have
1/5*x+5=1/4*x-5
x/5+5=x/4-5
x+25/5=x-20/4
4(x+25)=5(x-20)
4x+100=5x-100
4x-5x= -100 - 100
- x = - 200
multiplying both sides by negative sign,we have
x=200
