Used to be called a "King". In ancient times, kings tend to have many wives. Today, in many countries, when a man has many wives, he calls it a secret cos it's against the law.
Guess you have your right answer in polygamist though ! A bigamist is like a triangle in the polygon world. Bigamist ONLY has 2 wives.

Polygamist. In the US many people practice serial polygamy/polyandry, that is, one wife/husband after another, rather than multiple wives/husbands at one time.

polygamist, if he is married to them all at once. If he has multiple wives in succession (divorces one & marries the next, etc) you may call him "broke" if each wife gets half of what is left after the previous divorce. (Hey, this was in the word play section....)

The others were right...but here's an extra fact: a woman who has multiple husbands engages in "polyandry."
