I did this last April fools day. I told a friend that I was moving a long ways away. I kinda felt bad because she started to cry. Who knew she cared so much. So be careful what kind of prank you pull or you might hurt your friend's feelings.
Good luck.

fake vomit on the floor on the way to the bathroom. come into the kitchen asking for some paper towels and ask that they help you clean it up so you don't keep vomiting. once they touch it they will know you are sick (mentally).
fake rubber insects placed in cupboards in friends kitchen. they are usually the monster size ones that are pretty much guaranteed to get a gasp.
bring over a goldfish in a bowl of water with a pretty plant, etc. as a gift. take it out of the bag and witness the floater (fake goldfish). insist that it will come back to life with a little shock therapy. then ask for a hair dryer. ZAP! please don't really use the dryer.
look around the house to see what triggers a light to go off. you'd be surprised just how simple a little gag can be so rewarding.
Have fun!

The good old-fashioned drawing a moustache on their face is always a winner! Tickling them with a feather Just remember to make sure that the friend sleeping won't be offended by the prank!

I am a firm believer in sleep pranks. One night I squeezed a half a bottle of cocoa butter on my sleeping friends forehead. It was hilarious. He jumped up and the cocoa butter just dripped down into his eyes (No permanent damage)and all down his face. It was classic.
Another time, same friend, was sleeping and snoring with his mouth wide open. Another friend and I decided to make his open mouth into a goal and we tossed popcorn. He woke up, mouth parched from the massive amounts of popcorn stuck in his pie-hole. He was trying to ask what happened and popcorn just comes flying out. Hilarious.

My neighbors kids pissed me off.
One night someone purchased a box of light blue clothing dye and threw it in their pool.
The obnoxious little brats looked like smurfs for a month.
Light blue is not seen in the water because it is the color of the liner.
I have also sat outside someones house with a remote control that worked their TV.
Change the channels and turn down the volume.
If they turn it off turn it on again
