i mean, when someone says,'hey this music is gay' do they really mean that the music is for gay people as in homosexual?and why is it that most pop artists like kylie minogue and madonna are regarded as gay icons while 'straight' music is mostly rock stuff?is it the music or the person singing that causes this thing?

nope...but the term gay in the first context is like lame...dumb but they're considered gay icons cuz it seems like a very large ammout of gay ppl like tecno type of music i'm not saying all gay ppl like that cuz i personally cant stand it

Yeah, a lot of people does this stuff all the time! People think that rock/Rap/Hip-Hop is for straight people but the slow music or Madonna songs...People will called it "Gay".
It is stupid word to use but it is like samilar word "stupid, lame or even dumb"... But some people judge by the music and singing..

It is more like people's types of song. Suppose people heard Rap/Hip-Hop all the time but then heard slow music, you know what I saying?

Well sometimes when people call music "gay" it's referring to how the musicians dress - which is somehow linked to their music style. Like if a male singer wore makeup - let's say Boy George - people say his music is gay, because he is the standard target for people to call him gay. Get what I mean?

it think their is alot over over commercialized music out their that is made to respond to specific demographics and the stereotypes that's precede them. all tyoes of music have thier a certian type of people that listen to that kind of music. but that doenst mean a person is limited to what they like or who like it.

i think it reflects on a lot of things. most straight men won't watch a soap opera however gay ones usually enjoy them often.
