Yes indeed the libido starts slowing around 40-ish. And this does not happen on the stroke of midnight at 50. This starts gradually & insidiously, after the mid-30's are done.

And yes, they are really not as horny or desperate after 50. They all go through mens' " change of life" IT'S FOR REAL.
Desires fade & libido weakens. erections fade. Semen decreases, dribbles out downwards instead of shooting across - like before. This is life. You cannot maintain youth forever.

This is a common mistake among women of all ages. Most men have a little decrease in sexual desires usually after around 50. Generally they will decrease their sexual actions not because of his libido but do to the libido of his wife. That is about the time women go into Menopause and their sexual desires drop off. So you see the men have to slow down do to the women slowing down.

If a man under 50 is active in his sexual life and his wife is willing to continue her sexual appetite also, then both libidos can survive. If not then if a man does not keep up his sexual desires they can lose it all together.

There are many reasons for the decrease in libido of a man after 50. Time, energy, health, and compatibility of his partner.

I am very happy to say that for my part my sexual appetite has not slowed down and my wife is still available for our sexual adventures. As we grow older, time seems to go much faster, our energy level diminishes, and our health is changing also. But we may not have sex every night but we still have love for each other and when we do have sex the three times a week to once a week, we men over 50 have the ability to step up to the plate and give the younger people a good run for their money.

Thanks for asking. It is good to know someone is thinking of us old people once in a while. Instead of the immature," size of my cock syndrome."

Biologically speaking yes, the libido is less active. This is when the mind takes over and those guys think about sex all the time regardless the age. Have you ever heard of dirty old man?
Horny is a state of mind. Viagra and the like are tools for them to pick up the pace a little when they need it.
I hope to be getting it on 'till I'm on my death bed

Good luck getting men to open up honestly about a decrease in libido. My husband's started to slow down in his early 50's and he was very sexually active up until then.

depends on the man. studies have shown that the younger a boy started puberty, the older he will stay sexually active. i know guys that stopped at 40. I'm 55 and still going but as someone said before, the older the slower. Groucho Marx's wife had a baby by him when he was 75 years

Hi ...sorry but i don't think you ever get a man to answer this question ...(my opinion, I hope it might answer your question) .i don't think so .....though in their mind they like to believe that...... so they make out in society that they still just as good as when they where 21? ....I was told that, its the woman's libido that gets stronger...and the man feels very treated, because they can't perform like they did at 21?.......that's why now you see more older men with younger girls......and older woman with younger boys.....

they would need but not to that extent primarily b'coz they would find their libido level (testorene) little down and they need more time to recover from the previous orgasm.
