Tank tops as often as possible, hard-core sunscreen on the tan parts (SPF 45 plus), SPF 4 or 6 on the white parts. That's how I did it so I could wear a strapless dress to a wedding.
Also, a spray-on tan could help.

What is a truckers tan? I have heard of a farmers tan, but not a truckers tan.

How did you get it? My son just got into the business so I will need to warn him! LOL! Maybe go shirtless? Tan the rest? Maybe it will fade?

try a sunless tanner.
