First off your friend is full of crap b/c Nuva ring is a form of birth control and you can't be on the pill and on that at the same time. If she wants to have a child tell to get her @$$ off the birth control then and maybe something would happen.

Anything's possible. I got pregnant while on the pill, but then, I wasn't trying. :) If she wants to get pregnant, why is she on birth control? If she's wanting to go off her bc she needs to wait till the end of the current cycle or it'll throw her system off and cause breakthrough bleeding as well as some hormone swings. There's no necessary waiting period between when you stop taking bc and when you start trying to get pregnant. Birth control does not stay in your system (ring, pills, or whatever) so once you remove it, it's done 24 hours later.
She shouldn't purposely try and get pregnant while on any kind of birth control, b/c it not only tries to prevent ovulation but also thins the lining of the uterus. So even if an egg did get fertilized, it's likely it wouldn't be able to implant in the uterus and would die.
Again though: maybe she needs to think this through. If she wants to get preggo what's she doing on bc in the first place?

The whole point of the ring is to prevent birth control, so no, she cannot get pregnant. It is easy to remove, and she should be able to get pregnant in one to three cycles.

All she has to do is take the ring out and get to work. It's not like IUDs or shots or something.
1. Remove ring.
2. Engage in procreation.
Repeat step two as often as needed.
EDIT: To those of you who may not know, the nuvaring is a simple, plastic vaginal insert through which the hormones are absorbed locally. They are not like high-dosage pills or shots. I especially recommend the ring to those women who are prone to depression or mood swings; the ring does not amplify these conditions as much as other hormonal treatments. Ask your doc about it.
