initially this sounded pretty easy but nobody seems to make what I want.
The kitchen is the most used room in the house, and needs good sound. The source needs to be compact, maybe under cabinet or in wall, but also powerful. The typical stereo store units are all too big. Then,I would like to run some speakers out on the adjacent patio. Thats the tough part. Nothing seems to be available. Any ideas? Am I the only one thinking this way?

Alternatively, if you can afford the $$ you could get your system rigged through the house wherever you want it to play. I don't know all the exact details, but there are ways to extend you primary system. Even the speakers can be wall-mounted, or mounted in the walls.

The key to good installation is two-fold:
1. Get the right equipment
2. Get a good installer

A pro stereo shop should have the equipment and be able to advise you on what will work well together.

A good installer will be able to fish the cable through the wall and verify your auxillary connection equipment (including quality cables).

Good luck!

If you want a under the counter radio and you want to run speaker wire from that to your patio your not gonna be able to do that. Theres not enough wattage for that many speakers, nor any plugs and even if you were to open it up and solder it on, youd just be wasting your time. You could always go with a surround sound system with wireless speakers and just place them wherever you like
