November congressional elections? If so, do you think Americans would rally round the president and the Republicans, preserving a majority and precluding congressional investigations which may lead to impeachment charges? Or do you think he will wait until after the November elections to attack Iran? It seems that the president has already made a decision to attack Iran, based on what many observers say; it looks like it's just a question of when.

Why would they stop now? There will never be an end to what they started in the middle east. It will only grow worse and worse and worse till who knows...maybe it will be the end of time before long. Maybe Bush is the Anti Christ. That would make sense would it not? Disguised in righteousness and yet a false prophet...preaching lies and creating more terror in the world than could possibly have existed before 9/11. Saddam was a tyrant but Bush didn't nail him for the people's sake...but for his own agenda...same with Bin Laden and Afghanistan just for control...why not invade Pakistan with such force too then since that is where they know he is and where most of the terrorists are harboured? Why Iran...because Iran is a threat...they are almost provoked into it now...anyone who dares to stand up to America is a threat..."you are either WITH US or with the TERRORISTS"...we'd better watch our hides or we'll be next.

Don't you feel that all the peoples of the world are alike...none of us want war..all of us pay..and who wins but our governments...and what the hell do they win anyhow...power? What power!?!?! It was a joke but now it seems to hold true that saying of "he who dies with the most toys wins"....it seems to be all a game but a game where no one wins.

And note on Iran: Iranians aren't fools...they've known this was coming from day one...and that it's a covert ploy to eventually get them to submit...that is why they blatantly insisted they were starting thier nuke program again. They won't sit idley by. Granted they are not friends, but goading them into face to face confrontation is not really a wise move in this day and age....knowing what they have at thier disposal.

Please... bush will not start a war with Iran, for a couple of reasons. One, the UN is already too involved. It may be the most useless organization in the history of the world, but they're already too deep into this. Second, bush will not want hurt public oponion for the republicans, which will be important to keep up for the next election.

I believe that Iran will be starting a war. They're the ones that want it, and they want to wipe out Israel, that will be the breaking point.

I dont believe there will be nuclear weapons involved either. Think of the stigma that would be attached to ANY country that used nuclear weapons in this day and age. If the Iranian president has half a brain, he would'nt do it. All that would be accomplished is to turn the world against Iran, and put their allies, China, Russia, on the suspect list

When Iran starts the next war, I believe that people will rally behind a republican president, because the American people understand that this will not be an overnight victory, and republicans tend to have more of a backbone than democrats. Republicans also tend to not to care too much about what other countries have to say about our actions when we are directly involved. There's good and bad to both sides I guess.

No, he won't wage a war with Iran. He has placed a number of Republicans in trouble to the point the Senate may change to a Democrat majority. If that happens, then he absolutely can't. The Democrats will stop that.

He has also thinned out our troops to the point where he is recalling them after their tour of duty. He has lost a lot of support, which he should, for this war in Iraq.

Fact is, he just wants to wage war, and it is getting out of hand. He is getting war-hungry, and he needs to be stopped before the rest of the world begins to come after us. Why do you think Hezbollah is in control of Lebanon? Because the Lebanon people are tired of the United States involving themselves in their world. Not all of the Middle East wants to convert to Christianity and Democracy. Pat Buchanan, a right-winger, said it best, "They don't hate us because of our freedom, they hate us because of our policies".

I think the chances are kind of low unless Iran does something to hurt Americans. One the other hand, if their president follows through with the treat to whipe Israel form the face of the earth it could lead to the use of nukes.

I don't think they will bc they don't want to have to answer to the people for another "war." Further, we don't really have the troops to devote to another situation.

I think he will prefer to leave it up to the incoming President - a Democrat... to fix all the messes he's created. The Elephants always make a mess - don't they?

Let's not forget - "Troops" are people too and they didn't sign up to fight oil wars overseas - they signed up to defend THIS country. Let the oil cos. hire their own armies.

Most probably the soonest when Iran do not stop its nuclear arms build-up because the earliest to attack, the better.
