The answer will vary from state to state. In New Hampshire, you could lose your license for failure to pay tickets. Then if caught driving without a license, you become an habitual offender, which caries a felony charge, and mandatory jail time.

Quite a few things would make you have to go to jail, loose his license. The common I think and hear of is something to involve possession and or intent to distribute.

It could be a number of things, and the jail sentence might have nothing to do with the loss of his license. However, if they are related, vehicular homicide (accidentally killing someone with his car) or repeated drunk driving would do it.

Drinking and driving, running from the police or at least refusing to stop, there are a lot of offenses that can cause you to lose your liscense and go to the pokey.

Drunk Driving & if he doesn't want to talk about it, it is entirely possible he killed someone. Believe it or not someone usually has to die before a drunk driver gets put in jail.

I don't think your IQ is high enough to allow you to contain any ideas, so giving you one is a misallocation of resources.
