Do you think people are PC because they are afraid of what other people might think of them if they are not?

In Australia some silly academic has demanded that "Mom & Dad" not be used in Schools anymore, because it is offensive to the children of same sex & single sex families.

I want to know why ordinary people are not standing up to these silly academics. I have had people say to me, "don't say that somebody might find it offensive".

I have asked them, & others around them if they were offended. The reply has always been,"well no. but somebody else MIGHT be".

So, to my way of thinking. It's time to tell these learned academics to get a life. Preferrably on some island with others of their ilk and leave us alone.

It will be a cold day in hell when our children will be forbidden to utter the words mum and dad anywhere. I promise.

It has gone WAY too far. Especially in relation to children. All this nonsense about not upsetting the poor things. What is going to happen when they hit the big grown up world? They are not being taught how to lose because in schools now there are no losers - every single child gets awards! Well life isn't like that. Sometimes you can try really hard, but it doesn't mean you will get that pay rise/promotion/date with that guy from the bar etc!

To a point, I can accept certain terms. "Little People" over "midgets", "unmarried woman" over "old maid".

But "vertically challenged" or "maintenance access panel" is STUPID!
