i just bought a laptop and wanted to know what should i do to mantain its good conditian

For external care, use a very very slightly damp cloth to wipe any dirt every so often. For the screen and the keyboard there are inexpensive cleaning cloths with liquid that you can buy at any office supply store. Buy something that is meant for a laptop or computer screen. This will keep the system clean. Don't use water on the screen.

As for system maintenance, it's like a car, you need to do preventive maintenance, like an oil change for a car.

This applies to any PC not just laptops. Ideally restart your system at least 2-3 times weekly. With a laptop this should be a likely happening. It helps to delete temporary files that take up space and slow down your system.

Run anti adware and anti spyware software programs. Links for those are also provided.

Run disk defrag every month at least. To access this - click on START - Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Defragmenter.

Other than that - just be careful with the laptop. Don't drop it or bang it against things, as it is pretty delicate, though nowadays laptops will take a little more band around than they used to.
