Is there a new Caliph?

The attacks against Israel started me thinking down this path. They occurred just as the UN security council was set to discuss Irans nuclear program. Everyone just assumed that it was Iran flexing a muscle in order to distract the U.S. and its allies.
But that assumption bothered me. Someone, somewhere, gave an order to attack Israel on a specific date knowing full well that they were sacrificing Lebanese lives for Iranian nukes.
Add to that the increasing sectarian violence in Iraq fanned by people from other countries who just keep showing up.
Add to that continuing attacks in Afghanistan that seem to only increase in strength and coordination.
Add to that a seemingly endless supply of suicide bombers that are being trained by someone, whose targets are being picked by "someone"
I'll admit that I'm paranoid and I'll be the first to argue that the vast majority of Muslims are good people.
It just feels like someone is playing us all, and he's good at it.
A Caliph? Who else?

Yeah, he's good at it all right. What you really need to ask is whats his ultimate goal. Folks always get squirmy at the turn of a century but our race has never before been so large or technically advanced as we are now. I think you should take a long hard look at the decaying structure of our society and then ask yourself the question again. I think he's just setting the stage for the one he really works for.

I agree with your arguement. In this war, there could be someone who is behind all this? It might or might not be Osama Bin Laden. It could be someone who hates ALL muslims, probably more than Bush or Blair. I doubt that there is another Caliph,because it would most likeli be a muslim. But I do agree with your statement about the vast majority of Muslims being good people.
Whoever this person or thing is, they are killing innocent lives for no d*** reason. Who knows, it could be Bush and Blair all behind this horrible conflict just to gain world fame. But, I don't think there will be another Caliph, unless they show their face to the world.
