Babies that age should be on breastmilk or formula, not straight cow's milk, and definately not 2% milk. The recommendation is to use whole milk from 12-24 months and low or reduced fat milk after their 2nd birthday.

Has anybody actually tasted baby formula? I don't blame her for wanting regular milk. I think that it won't hurt her too much. Just make sure that she is getting proper nutrition elsewhere. Milk tends to fill their bellies without all the proper nutrition. Maybe now would be a good time to cut down on how many bottles she gets a day, and if she still needs it for comfort try putting water in it

These are the issues with milk:
-Milk is one of the most common allergens, and there's a risk of creating a life-long allergy if you introduce it when your baby's gut is too immature.
-Milk is not nutritionally dense enough to be a baby's sole (or primary!) source of nutrition. For the first year of life, breastmilk (or formula) should be a baby's main food. After a year, if your baby eats a lot of solids, you could consider switching from formula to whole milk, but there's no need to hurry.
-Babies need fat for brain development, and should get whole milk, not 2%

It woudl be best to start mixing whole milk or 2% milk (whole milk will just add more babyfat wieght, but its not really neccisary) with Formula.
Dont jump in and give baby straight milk without mixing it with babies formula, as this could cause his/her stomache to become very upset. Also gives you a chance to see if baby is allergic to regular milk. (i.e., lactose intolerant).
Do use whole milk tho if baby is not where he/she should be wieght and development wise.

YES!!! Try it and see if your baby likes it. I have two kids but raising four, and all of them but one was drinking milk and eating table food by 6 months, and their doctor till this day says that they are very healthy, never had a complanit from any doctor.

not for any length of time. if you are in a pinch (stuck somewhere with no formula or breastmilk available), you could feed your baby one bottle of cow's milk. but there is not enough nutrition in cow's milk to sustain a nine month old long term. in particular, babies less than a year old need a lot of fat in their diet for brain development. feeding a baby a diet that is too low in fat can result in a brain that does not develop to its full potential.

The most important thing is the iron from the formula. 2% also doesn't have enough fat. If you go milk talk to your doc about whole mik with iron drops (most pharmacies have them for infants) and you should be ok.

Your doctor will tell you no but he will also tell you that you can start getting them off of formula anywhere from 9-12 months. It is really up to you just give them 2 oz to start off and still give them formula.
