nine times out of ten it its allergies....when they itch and burn, we tend to rub them, or scratch inadvertently...and they get puffy from that action....the best solution is to take benedryl...as long as it doesn't react with any meds you are taking currently....and wet a washcloth, put it in the fridge for about ten minutes, and lay it across your eyes, it will help the swelling under the eyes....hope this helped.

If you're wearing contacts, it could be the first symptoms of conjunctivitis starting up. Or it could be an allergen or a pollen particle that was floating in the air happened to land in your eye. I had that happen to me once when I went out in the woods last spring. I thought it was conjunctivitis at first since I was wearing contacts. I took my contacts out and all the symptoms went away within a few hours. I made sure to disinfect my contacts really well first before putting them back in again just to be on the safe side.

Probably allergies. Eyes are the most sensitive part of our bodies, so they will have a reaction first. It could be an eye infection, but you would have discharge with that. Sounds like allergies.
