A lot of it is diet. When a diet consists mostly of protein, the people will usually grow far taller than those whose diet is primarily vegetarian.

An example: in Mexico, the native peoples there before the arrival of the Europeans were fairly short--women were about 4'11 and men about 5'3-5'6. Their diet was based on centeotl, or maize corn. The Plains Indians, such as the Sioux and Cheyenne, whose main staple was of animal origin, were quite tall--men were averaging over six feet.

In China, the staple is often vegetarian in nature, thus their stature is shorter. However as diets come to include more protein-based foods, the average height will grow considerably.

That's a total stereotype. I know plenty of chinese people who are over 6 ft. Actually all the chinese people i know are really tall. I think you're stereotyping chinese people from like TV or maybe a small group of chinese people you see. They might not even be chinese. But yeah I could ask "why are african american people so tall?". and its not true for all african american people. They're not ALL tall.
The chinese people YOU know might be short b/c they just are!

I guess you mean Asians generally, because chinese are not small. Where I live I get chinese TV channels and they are not small people, but not fat either.

Do you know why there is no Disneyland in China?

Because everyone would be too short to go on the fun rides.
