... cheap gasoline, shoes, import cars, computers, and cush American lifestyle. Someone has to pay for our luxuries. If you don't want to be the one, then how can you complain about the US government ensuring that you don't have to?

I absolutely love my iPod. I use it almost every chance I get, but iPods and the government have nothing to do with each other. And if you're talking about the US importing goods from other countries then that's not really a huge thing in this day and age because you can order anything you want online(black market or not) and the consumerism craze would just be bigger because there would be more demand for mysterious foreign products.

You realise that consumer goods and availability is not really tied to the government's military policy.
