Lately I have been watching many kids doing things. Kids can be mean to one another and it makes me sad. There is so much going on in this world. Hungry kids, sick kids and too watch them together picking on this one and that one upsets me. If they would stop to think before being mean....

When my friends have problems in their lives that I can't solve, and only they can fix it themselves. It just makes me sad when all I can do is just sit and hope and pray for them to be okay.

The latest thing that made me sad to near hysterics was a rerun of the movie "Flight 93" on A&E...everytime I see a documentary on the events in NY City "The Twin Towers" on September 11th, 2001, and see people jumping from the portions of the towers that were filling with smoke and flames...People just like myself and my family and my neighbors who went to work to earn a living or were just attending to their daily business, without having a clue that they were going to die that day. I feel the lump in my throat and I cannot stop the tears from just flowing. I have a sister in law who recently said to me: "Just get over it! Why do you watch that crap if it makes you cry?". I will NEVER get over it. My heart goes out to the families of the people, that died on the planes and in those bldgs. in NY and Arlington, VA and on Flight 93 (United Airlines) that day! I watch it over and over, and I will never understand it, I will never just accept it or become numb to that carnage. It makes me sad that America was attacked so vicously, and innocent people died such horrible deaths! When I hear the phone messages that some of them left before they plunged from the flaming smoke filled areas to their certain death, before the towers collapsed and killed police, firefighters and others who kept running in to save victims from the horror of the incident! Some of the real heroes that day were ordinary people who ran into the buildings to do whatever they could to try to help. They ran toward the danger, while other were fleeing for their lives in fear! My heart breaks for our country and what happened that day!

I see the nearly 5 years that have passed have returned some of us to life as usual, AS IN: (I think I will be upset because I have a bad boyfriend or a bad hair day...or because I can't afford the new shoes to match my new party dress).

The flags that we all unfurled so boldly have long ago been reduced to tatters and delegated to a trash can, the red white and blue faded, is now gone and forgotten.

I think some of the answers to this question make me sad too. I am sad for the families who are losing their sons and daughters in the war to fight terrorism, I am sad when I see the story of another young person who is leaving behind a young wife and children because he cared enough to fight for his country. Read your history people when our country was attacked on Dec. 7, 1941 the following day Franklin D. Roosevelt (a Democrat) declared war.

The huge difference in these attacks? Not political. The attack on Pearl Harbor was a strategic move to disable some of the Pacific Naval Fleet's Force. The attack on the World Trade Center was an attack on Civilians and people who were not any threat to the people who murdered them.

I feel very sad when I think of a Gymnasium in Russia full of terrorists and young children and the bombs that blew these innocent children to bits. It hurts me deep inside, I fear for my country (America) and what we have become (weak and unwilling to fight and whining because we are trying to save our own innocents). If we do not fight to save our own country who shall we expect to step up to help us? See how quickly this went from what made us all sad/upset to going back to thinking of our own little lives and problems...I am not joking with any of you when I say I openly weep when I see these shows and on the movie Flight 93 the passengers that helped keep that plane from reaching it's destination by taking action knowing that they were going to die in the process of saving someone else!

Maybe the correct question is not "what makes you sad", but what makes you hurt so much inside that you weep? Nothing else in my life is so sad, none of my personal problems could compare to what I have just told you about...When I cry, I do not often cry for myself, I cry for the innocent people who were murdered that day by madmen for NO good reason!

When people think being a christian is just a bunch of rules and not a relationship with God, who happens to love us very much and has our best interest at heart.

When people take each other for granted.
