suppositories(spelling) and the creams just are not helping.Besides having them removed are there any other things I can try for external hemorrhoids. The Dr, already cut and removed bloodclots on Monday and swelling and pain are back.

Had mine banded recently and wish I had gone to the doctor about this years ago! It was painful for a week, but now am completely cured!

Dibucaine ointment or nupercainal from the drug store or wal mart. Take colace to keep stools soft. Vitamin C with bioflavinoids and Rutin help heal hemorroids, but it takes time.
Try to exercise to improve circulation.

cold water compresses will keep the area cool and relieve any discomfort as it will keep the swelling down and make the area feel numb
