". . . that the Divine is no more female than male, that it is without gender, beyond gender, that while it may have its male and female aspects, those are merely two facets of the infinitely faceted infinitude it presents to the world, and that any impulse to ascribe gender to the Divine is a foolish display of chauvinism that vainly attempts to place limits on that which is limitless."

I've often wondered about the arguments between God and Goddess. What do you think?

well, i have been thinking about this same quesiton for quite some days. i think god is just god. not he, not she, not it. i think that just because times immemoriable, the male has always been given more importance and shown to be stronger than his female counterpart, people might have had the belief that only a man could make the world, that only he was strong enough to make this world, and no she could possibly run it, because no female is strong enough. and that is why maybe everyone has believed that god is a he. but those are just the beliefs of the people, just because they want someone to believe in, the ultimate someone, the ONE. see, if god were a male or a female, god would not be clever enough to make two different species, because god's thinking would then be limited only to one. think about it, if a female had never in her life seen or heard of a male, she would not know that some such creature existed. her thoughts would be limited to the fact that everyone is like her, a female. the same would happen in the case of a male. so if god made both males and females, god has to be neither. only then, god would be able to make them completely different and unique from each other. otherwise, both males and females would have had very much the same qualities, which they do not.

First of all thank you for your answer to my question about cancer and perfection.
To answer your question HE OR SHE? What is God?
The question is absurd....how can you put gender to something unfathomable and as complete (and perfect) AS THE UNIVERSE (GOD)?
People still think in terms of gender when they do not fully understand the awe of this subject (who does) ?
All I can say is, that the universe is without beginning and without end and we are all part of it and GOD represents this to us as the supreme creator. God is really the word we give to a divine 'something' we can never understand. So if we can never understand what it is we are trying to understand then we are unable to label it with gender. It is an awesome presense we know exists but we cant see it. The closest analogy you can get to, is the wind.....we know its there but nobody has ever seen it! only its effects.
I think Tom Robbins has hit the nail down really well in Gods boot....dont you?
P.S. I heard the other day that GOD is working on A MORE MODEST PROJECT. LOL!
P.P.S. GET IN TOUCH WITH ME PLEASE.....EMAIL Thanks

God is that, He, She, or those which or who has created or is creating all that is, has been, and will be. I don’t know much more than that for sure. However, I find it ironic that the Judeo-Christian God, often referred to as He, would be male and the creator of all life and yet give the power of procreation to woman instead of man.

Definitely, God is infinite and has no form. But if you must decipher what gender is God. Then God is a man. When he created Adam or man, he created him to his own likeness. Therefore, God is a man.

Male and female is a biological thing. If one thing is obvious, it is that nothing biological created the universe.

As to the sex we ascribe to God, it's probably as valuable as the names we acribe to Her.

God is neither male or female, neither tall or short, neither fat or thin. Simply put, god is every thing all rolled up into one.
