This is an interesting question. I am not sure if you are asking it in jest or not; but, I will offer you a serious answer. I am not a psychologist, but I am a licensed social worker and have worked with many people who are what main stream society would consider to be "crazy." [ I use the term crazy loosely.]
One thing I have noticed about these patients/clients is that they [with the exception of those who are developmentally delayed] are often exceptionally intelligent individuals. Sometimes my patients/clients are much more knowledgeable than myself in certain areas....such as history, the arts or music and it is quite fascinating. I am left with many more questions than I have answers about this population.

People who are considered "insane" are often found in "insane asylums" to protect society. This is an interesting misnomer. In fact, the people who are there are the few sane people who unfortunately are unable to cope with the insanity of the real world. They are kept in these institutions for their own protection.

Insane people think that way. Seriously - I've known several, and they really believed that they were the only sane people in any given situation.
