Been told for a health issue that detoxing my body would be helpful. Is doing so effective with a health-food store detoxing package, without fasting?

Your experience or details appreciated.

Thanks.

Thank you, both, for your insight and generosity. I learned something from each answer. Best wishes, Michael

I've found that fasting helps, but it's not necessary. It would help to stay away from "stuff" that is processed. That means no fast food, pre-packaged meals, soda, cheese, and just about anything you couldn't pull out of a garden or butcher. If you choose to keep the "crap" in your diet, you can just repeat the detox every other month. Even if you control what you can, there's still environmental "stuff" that gets into your body. A whole-body detox is good for just about everybody every few months.

you don't want to go with out food, it buts your body in starvation mode. there are many detox pills on the market you could try one. Another method (need to be planed out so you have days off for the worst bit) You need to detox for 2-3 days to get the most benift. so 3-5 days prior to restricted eating days (the days you need of because your likly to have headachs and be grumpy) start to cut out milk, caffinee, alchole, sugar, and bad fats(deep fried) On your detox days you want to drink fresh juice, vegie broth, water and just eat vegitables (cooked and raw).

To kick start it even more of a morning (before breakfast) have hot water and lemon juice then go for a 30min kind of brist walk, come back have a showere with alternating temp 2min hot 2min cold and so on (always end on cold). If you want to go even thurther you can by a dry body brush (from place like the body shop) and dry brush your body before the shower to help with cerculation (also good for celluite)
