Do you think if the more you socialize the easier it will get? The more relaxed and comfortable you will be with other people?

Yes, I know this is true. I am not naturally an extrovert, but I have learned to be more outgoing by thinking of what I might say or do before I get into social situations. I now enjoy being with people more than I used to, and sometimes people tell me they admire me for being so "out-going." Basically, I have just made it a habit to be friendly and take an interest in other people. When I go into a room full of people I don't know, I don't wait for someone to approach me. I just head on in and start introducing myself and take it from there. It gets easier with practice.

Usually that is the case. Practice your social skills with people you know are loving and accepting first, then branch out. Strike up a conversation with the mail man (don't keep him too long, he has a job to do), ask your next door neighbor how he is doing next time you see him across the fence, say hello to an elderly person....they usually love your kind attention.

Some people are NEVER comfortable socializing, and just do not like to do it. So as far as practicing, it will work to some degree, but if you have that uncomfortable feeling, please listen to your body and relax and go to have some down time.

yes and no. if subconscoiusly you are not comfortable with socialising then every time you meet someone new, you will go through the same fear of socialising. usually this is an insecurity problem. but i believe some people work their issues out and it becomes easier for them.

'In service training'. A lot can be learned hypothetically, from reading books, watching people from a park bench and such,, but it has to be put into practice. Some expereinces will be good and some bad, but we learn from it all,,, we develop social skills. All things in moderation, I say. Time to socialize, and time to reconnoiter.

Yes, I do. I was really shy and I got a job at a store where I had to talk to customers and now I talk all the time.
