The deepest of pains is emotional !
And, unlike physical pains, mind is at a loss to suggest a remedy !
So, the first thing that goes hay-wire is the mind, unable to recall from memory any tangible solution, because emotions are felt afresh each time, and the experience is in the nearest present though not in the exact present moment !
The first victim of such a situation is the being itself, and it tries to go back to its original free state. Not that it can really achieve it, unless real freedom is consciously worked at.
It is during times like this, that you need people who touched your inner core, should be nearby (at least some mode of contact) and can be of some help !

HAve you heard the expression that pain is all in your mind. No I am not trying to be trite here. The reality it is. All pain emotional or physical occurs when the brain sygnals that a painful event has occured. We feel the pain in our fingure tip when we touch a hot pan but that is not where the "pain" occured. The injury occured there and the nerves sent a signal to the brain that a painful event occured and that the pain is located in the fingere tip.

The brain makes very little differentiation between those physical events and those events of an emotional only nature. The brain processes the pain and the body responds. It may be in the pit of our stomach, or it may be more generalized somatic pain.

That is why people who suffer from depression often suffer from chronic body pain too.

Not really sure, take a psych class to understand the deeper meaning. My personal thoughts would be that is a feature or defect if you will of a higher intelligence.

Its been documented that there is such a thing as "mental" health, and that mental health any physical health are more interlinked than ever before, yet going farther apart from each other every day.

Example, a situation stresses you out (such as a bad grade) which some would agure would be a mental problem, stress Can affect your homeostasis, as well as your immune system levels, so you get sick faster or more.

Look up HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus) type 1 and 2, I have it in my mouth, break outs seem to occur at HIGH levels of stress...

I heard a wise person once say," you really don't have a problem, you just think you do".

In a sense that's true, but I guess that gives no satisfaction to a person who is experiencing some heavy trauma.

All emotions come from the brain, Some folks have more control over it than others

Emotions effect brain chemestry, and the brain controls the sence of touch and pain even where there are no nerves to feel pain. My advice: comfort food for tonight, and, if it's a longstanding thing, a trip to the Dr's for some happy pills.

the brain is the most powerful part of the body it can make you think that you are in places you aren't like in dreams you really believe it's happening 'til you wake that's why emotional pain can be turn into physycal pain as just as sometime you cut yourself and you don't even notice after a while

or even that's why sometime you can give a person sugar pill and as they think it's real medicine they feel better

Well if it did not hurt, would you pay attention to what is wrong? I think not. So God made it hurt so it grabs you attention. Usually when one does wrong the consequences is pain.

(Rom 6:23) For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Death is painful.
(Ecc 9:5) For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Fill life up with Joy in service to one who Loves and adores you. His name is Jesus. Find him and he will give you life and ease the pain.

Because it hurts so much without actually physically hurting...and something deep within us doesn't really think that's fair.

This is called as Will Power.
The ability of mind.
Your thoughts makes up your character.
What you think is what you become.
When you feel mentally tired you also feel physically tired.
But when you feel physically tired but mentally fresh or enthusiastic you forget your physical tiredness.

you have gut louts of intelligent answers, but let me tell you it is beautiful to be able to have emotions, to be able to feel the pain , even though I know it hurts, not everybody is capable of such emotion.
