any perfect square will have an odd amount of factors

1 = 1 = 1 factors
4 = 1,2,4 = 3 factors
9 = 1,3,9 = 3 factors
16 = 1,2,4,8,16 = 5 factors
25 = 1,5,25 = 3 factors
36 = 1,2,3,4,6,9,12,18,36 = 9 factors.....
