To download google earth one of the minimum requirement is
Graphics Card: 3D-capable with 16MB of VRAM
How can I find whether my PC has the above and where should i look at i.e at control panel or somewhere else

start / all programs / accessories / system tools / system information

go tools / directx diagnostic tool for the rest

Do a system check @ http://www.pcpitstop.com and it'll tell you all there is to know about your system (useful if you aren't confident enough to go poking around in "Control Panel" to look it up).... from what the specifications are, to any slight technical glitches that need putting right

no need to go to control panel and search for it,
just click on the START menu, then click on the RUN, and type DXDIAG and click OK, all the information you need will be diaplayed. make life simple and easier my friend.

Start>Run>dxdiag.

Rightclick on the my computer icon>properties

Right click on the desktop and click on properties then choose
settings.
in the middle of the page you can find it.
