and it flops or doesn't make a certain dollar amount, should that actor be paid less for their next movie?

XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Actually they pay him that much because that is what he's worth having nothing to do with the movie. If the company loses from it, it's not the fault of the actor if he gave his best performance. it could be the writers, or anything else involved in the production. XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I believe so because the next movie might be a flop.

Yes, that's gotta bring down their value. If their worth $20 mil, they should know to read the script first and make sure it's got a decent plot.

not necessarily because the next movie could be a summer blockbuster which would make more money than the first one.
