Based on your question, I would say that you lack the communication skills required for a supervisory position. Also, I sense a sexist attitude, which would also inhibit your ability to be an effective supervisor in a mixed gender workplace. If I were your boss, just based on this question, I would have questions about your qualifications.

Push, if your grammar here is any indication, that might be something that you should work on. Maybe during your review you'll be able to talk with your boss and find out what they think it will take for you to get yourself into a position for promotion. Nobody owes you anything, remember that. You've got to make it happen, sometimes that means somewhere else.

Carpanone Kid has it here.

Accepting the decisions of your superiors and seeking their advice on how to move forward, showing you have interest and value their input... will make you MUCH happier in the long run than complaining about it to anyone. (news travels fast, authority doesn't like to be questioned) If you've been complaining to people you think you can trust... You've probably done a great deal of damage to yourself already. Damage control time... or start again somwhere else.

If you think you're still not doing well at this company, or are being treated unfairly after a period of time... move on.

If you want to keep your job, yes, you should accept it. Were you qualified to be the group supervisor? If not, find out what skills you need to develop so the next time this happens, you'll be ready to jump into the role.
