AVG is an excellent antivirus/firewall system. It's inexpensive too. I think it's 30 something dollars for 2 years. They also have daily updates. I've used them for 4 years now.

use kaspersky internet security 2006.it is rank 2.every thing is easy and in hand.it has the most powerful virus list and when a new virus published it has the fastest updates.but because of it's weak support in comparison to mcafee or norton it hast rank 2.just trust kaspersky russian team.good luck

if you want something free that works well, go for AVG. you can go into google or yahoo and type in AVG and usually the top site found is the home page for AVG. They have two options there, paid and free. THere is very little difference between the two but for a free one, AVG is the best one I've seen online.

I would highly recommend AVG antivirus. It's probably the best you can get and the least intrusive on your computer. Norton and McAfee are way too protective of the computer and they make it run slower.

you know you have to uninstall your mcafee right? It is because if you have 2 anti virus programs, they might produce false positives.

you also can only have 1 firewall program.

My set up is the following

Kerio Firewall (on my laptop)...Outpost (on my desktop)
AVG Free antivirus
Spybot Search and Destroy (anti spyware)
Spyware blaster (prevents spyware)
Ad aware (anti adware)

Ccleaner (cleans up the hard drive)

good luck.

For anti-virus try AVG at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 (this is free, but you can buy the professional edition)

For Firewall, you can try Zonealarm at www.zonelabs.com (have free edition too, and you can also buy the professional edition)
