Hypnosis or Hypnotherapy for addiction?

If you tried or know of someone who tried using hypnosis for addictions (smoking, alcohol, sugar etc.) please tell me about it.

I used to work with someone who used hypnosis to help her quit smoking. She was really pleased with it and was successful for about 6 or 8 months. Then she had some tragedy in her life and started smoking again.
I quit smoking without drugs or any other aid other than God. I think that when you're ready and you decide to quit you can be successful.

Anything can be successful with a lot of willpower. My father smoked since he was 16 and he tried to stop and he tried and he tried and when I was 15 years old he was able to miraculously quit cold turkey.

Breaking a bad habit is all up to the person. They receive counseling and everything else until it comes out of their ears, but they have to help make it work by truly wanting it and willingly fighting the cravings. Granted, it's not easy, but it can be done

hypnotherapy or self hypnosis only works if you really want it to work, it is the same with wanting to lose weight, stop smoking or even self confidence you must have the will power there to begin with. and you must believe in yourself and really, really want to quit the habit or it will never work.

For years...you have to almost get new friends if they endulge.
