Okay, to start with, I am a New Yorker, a caucasion, and of absolutely no arab decent,
nor am I a terrorist in any way, shape or form.
I had to make this point perfectly clear.
Now when our twin towers were struck by hijacked planes, each, and every person involved in the bombings were of Saudi Arabian
ancestry, not to mention the fact that the Saudi Arabian Royal family provided funding to Osama Bin Laden, who is also Saudi.
We as the United States of America have declared war on both Afghanistan and Iraq,
neither of which had in the past or in the future
the capability to attack America. Nor were they havens for terrorist groups until after our invasions. All of these facts are openly available through news media and United Nations reports.
With these facts in mind, why do Americans pay blind Patriotism when the country truly responible for the attacks on America has not even seen the least bit of retribution for thier actions?
Yours Truly,
A Concerned American.

I'm an american citizen, but I also happen to be a saudi.I agree with everything you said even though it doesn't favor me as a saudi at all.but just cuz these FEW saudies decided to blow up people including themselves, that doesn't make US all terrorists!!....I truly understand any kind of hate you have against saudies and I don't blame you,but I am asking you not to judge a majority of people by something that a minority is guilty of!....And for what it's worth,I'm really sorry about the twin tower tragedy and what thousands of americans had to go through!!....peace!

People tend to react that way to blind terror.
You've got some facts a bit twisted.
Bin Laden was born in Saudi Arabia around 1957 to a father of Yemeni origins and a Syrian mother. His father, Mohammed bin Laden, founded a construction company and with royal patronage became a billionaire. The company's connections won it such important commissions as rebuilding mosques in the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
n 1990, in response to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, the Saudi government allowed American troops to be stationed in Saudi Arabia. Bin Laden was incensed that non-believers (American soldiers) were stationed in the birthplace of Islam. He also charged the Saudi regime with deviating from true Islam.
Bin Laden was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991 because of his anti-government activities. He eventually wound up in Sudan, where he worked with Egyptian radical groups in exile.
That was the beginning of Al-Quaida and all that crap. A lot of Saudis were and are in agreement with Bin Laden. That may be why most of the hijackers were Saudi.........
It's interesting too that GW and GHW Bush both are very close personally and economically to the Saudi Royals.
But it does not follow that the entire country of Saudi Arabia is at fault for 9/11 and should be attacked because a few ppl from there did the mass murders.
NOR did it follow that we should attack Iraq and involve ourselves in a senseless war in which WE have become terrorists of a nation.

First your facts are wrong. Osama Bin Laden was running terrorist training camps in Afghanistan for years before 9-11. He and the Al-Queda were fingered for the murderous attacks on the two American Consulates in Africa. That is why Clinton ordered the attacks on the terrorist centers in Afghanistan, hoping to kill Bin Laden. It was only by perverse luck the Bin Laden didn't go there that day.
"blind patriotism"? I think you may be the blind one or at least suffering from telescopic vision. If you don't know why we are in Afghanistan and Iraq, you haven't been paying attention.

Nice re-write of the historical facts !! 1. The Saudis were AL-quada terrorists. 2. The Bin Laden family are billionaires. 3. Osama is a billionaire and financed Al-quada, not the Saudi government. 4. Osama was in Afghanistan training future terrorist attacks under the protection of The Taliban. 5. Bin laden opened up a can of worms, and G.W. decided to clean up the terrorist problem starting where we left off in Iraq, and plans to continue on through to Iran. Noticed Iran in the news lately ? Remember them being named as one of the partners in the "Axis-of-evil"??

Osoma was in Afghanistan and they were harboring a large terrorist organization. He could very well be in Saudi Arabia now. I don't think they or any other Arab nation should be above suspicion.
Iraq had nothing to do with it. That was just our president using the easily manipulated right wing Christian zombies for his own personal vendetta. He even said on the air, "He (Saddam Husein) tried to kill my daddy."
Last I heard Osoma Bin Laden was in kidney failure and on dialysis and we still can't find him. He's gonna die of old age before we find him, if we even find him then. Its so embarrasing I wonder if this blind patriotism you describe isn't just some people's way of overcompensating for that fact that we haven't really accomplished anything in spite of all the effort and sacrifices we've made.

Blind Patriotism leads to Nationalist Society. Nationalist Society leads to National Socialism. National Socialism leads to Fascism.
Corporations LOVE Fascism. There is no more government. Only the Companies. Why do you think the nickname of the CIA is "The Company"?
What proof do you have that the attackers were Saudi Arabians? Who gave it to you?
Question everything. There are conspiracies all around us; it's called "good business".
The only way I have found so far to fight it is this:
Buy less.
Buy local.
Buy only what you need.
Don't trust anyone outside the reach of your pitchfork.
We buy things that require oil to manufacture or run, then the oil companies give the money to terrorist countries. The terrorists attack the people who pay them, and we pay taxes to buy uniforms and planes and tanks to put our children in......
Your dollars are your vote. Keep them in your pocket, or you are voting for Fascism.

Not ALL people involved in the 9/11 bombings were Saudi,. Have you for gotten how many American people lost their lives? Weren't they also involved? And their families, weren't they "involved!!! What about people like me that I was simply doing my job in FL, and I still can't stand the thought of what happened on 9/11, and yes I have gone to NYC and saw the huge hole in the ground where so many non Saudi people lost their lives! Does that make me "not Involved?
I cry now for the lives we true Americans lost on that awful day.
If you can't feel that then get out of the USA! You don't belong here!

Well said.
Why the blind patriotism? Wartime propaganda of course. Aggressive people lie to themselves to justify their actions.

I don't believe Patriotism itself is ever blind. We should ALWAYS have pride for our country.
However, with that aside, your post is well written and I agree with your point of view.
