I want to know how the general public really feels. If you came across a resume that bears a Arab and/or Muslim name what would be your first thoughts, actions and how would you respond? Honest responses only please. Thank you.

You may not understand my response, but I'll give it anyway.

All muslims aren't terrorists, but the majority of terrorists are muslim these days. Most muslims who are not terrorists take no responsibility for policing their countrymen; they simply cast their palms skyward as if to say "what can I do?". Then they cast their eyes toward the people of other countries; the ones being targeted by their countrymen, and look the other way. They wail when their families are killed, but care nothing about the havoc that their brethren are wreaking all over the world.

It is for this reason that I would not hire anyone that even remotely resembled an Arab. Racist? They are the same race as I am. Prejudiced? Damn right; I have prejudged (for this is what prejudiced means; it does not mean racist as the ACLU has come to think) them to be guilty of allowing their countrymen to threaten the very existence of the world. Wrong? Maybe. Do I care if it's wrong? NO! Reactionary? Absolutely! Mean Spirited and not PC? YEAH! And proud of it! What do you want to do about it motherf'ucker?

I dont know where you have been but Arab Muslims are numbered in the thousands all over America and many have high positions and are productive in our society. Unfortunately many remain in the silent majority because they are not politically as active as they should be. They tend to concentrate on money because of the large disparity of the economies where they came from. So they are busy working a lot and sending money home to make the lives of their families better.
They are just beginning to realize that in order to have a voice in political situations that they must participate politically to be treated fair - thats how our system works.
They dont quite understand why Israel gets so much attention and our system doesnot give them equal consideration. They need to create lobbyists and be voters so that politicians will be fairer to them.
But check around and you will be amazed at how many and where they are. maybe even a web search may help you to know something about this.

Nope. Because the odds are way, way higher than average that their main goal in life is to kill me, an American.

When I see a woman in a burka in the store, I always wonder if she's got a bomb strapped on under the robe.

I don't worry about other people that way.

The last time someone posted a question very similar to this one, YAHOO removed it!

In all honesty, I think most will feel a bit leary! The terrorists who flew our planes into those buildings, pretended to be our friends for personal gain.... I think they ruined it for the rest of them, who may be sincere!

P.S. a comment to another answer posted, NO, not all are terrorists, BUT, theres really no way of knowing which ones aren't!

I would be very glad to find a highly qualified person regardless of what sort of name they have.
If I have reason to believe they are a political or religious nutcase of any kind, then I would avoid them like hell. But this applies equally to anyone regardless of origin.

No I Wouldn't, I know it's racist and their is no real good reason not to, but at this time I would not hire an Arab.

I would, diversity is always good. As long as they have good resume also. Not all muslims support terrorism. Thats just a stereotype.
