If Bush had called for a tax increase to pay for the war instead of a tax cut would your support for the war still be as strong?
If Bush had asked you to sacrifice for the war, instead of telling you to go shopping, would your support for the war still be as strong?
If Bush had initiated the draft would your support for the war still be as strong?
Just how many of your freedoms would you be willing to give up so you could be free?
How many would have to die before you wavered in your support for the war?
Just what is it that would you be willing to sacrifice for the war?

I reiterate the question. What would you give up to support the war?

If ALL we are willing to give up is our lives, how are we any different from them.
Shouldn't we be willing to give up Everything Else First?

Answer Man, I have no support for the war and never have. It has done more harm to us, the Americans then good, it is even harming the Iraqi people more then Saddam ever did. There was no good reason to go to Iraq in the first place and even less of a reason to stay there. Iraq as a sovereign country should be able to choose what kind of government they want and they will never accept a government that is a puppet for the U.S.

This continues to be an example of how the current administration has polarized this country. The invasion of Iraq was not related to 9/11. We invaded Afghanistan in retaliation. The sole reason we invaded Iraq was because the president said Iraq had WMD and might one day use those weapons against the U.S.
The fact is, had 9/11 not occurred this country would never had been convinced to invade Iraq. We will never know the reason George Bush steered this country into an unwarranted war. That reason is known only to Bush.
I am a veteran of a political war and have seen first hand the horrors of war. I support our troops whole heartily, but never will I support a politically motivated war again.
We do need strong, swift, decisive action against any aggression aimed at the United States. We do not need to be led off to war by a president who used the general feelings of the times to advance some personal agenda.

Well, my husband re-enlisted for 6 more years in the Army knowing there will be more deployments to Iraq after this one is done with my full support. I could have cried and begged and I know he would have opted not to re-enlist. So, in a way I sacrificed having a "normal" family life for myself and my children. Even if something were to happen to someone I love and care deeply for fighting over in Iraq...my support would still be as strong as it was in the beginning and is today.

I think the explanation has been the most difficult part of the war, since the public in general, doesn't conceptually understand the risk of terrorism to our overall lifestyle.
Iraq is strategically needed to successfully fight terrorism, based upon its location.
I believe that if we work as a team, less people would die and we would achieve our goal more efficiently. Funny how team work is always left out at the highest level.
If we want our men and women home sooner, than I believe we better start finding a way to work as a team.
I often wonder what our men and women in Iraq think of us, since they are the ones who have their life in their own hands.

You just don't get it, do you?
Every single time in the past we have been the target of terrorists, we have done nothing.
First world trade center bomb. We did nothing.
Embassy bombings. We did nothing.
USS Cole bombing. We did nothing.
9/11 - finally we responded. Each time we did nothing, we were attacked again. Since we have responded with force after 9/11 we have not been attacked. Anyone see a pattern here???
Think about it. The Islamic terrorists want you dead - they want all infidels dead - they stop at nothing (even suicide) to achieve this goal. They are fanatical, psycho fascists. A one world government under Islamic law. They don't understand diplomacy or negotiations - but, damn it, they understand a 500 lb bomb when it's in their back yard!

Support the troops. Oppose the war. Bring them home NOW!
I don't consider Hanging our boys out there to die in a political and unwinnable war a good way of showing support for them. Our Best and Bravest deserve far better than they are getting in Iraq!

I see this as a global Religious struggle between The West and Radical Islam. If needed, I'd put on a uniform, and give my very life.

If it meant that my kids would not grow up as islamist's, my daughters not forced to wear a veil and weren't allowed to vote, and innocent lives not taken...everything.
I would sacrifice everything for the future to be secure.
But, its not like ill have to.
And hoping for world events to stop on their own would be worse in my eyes... cause the world doesn't work like that.
