Not knowing what your budget's like, I'll do the best I can...

I'm going to assume by "host mom" that you are a foreign exchange student. If I'm wrong there, I'm very sorry, but my ideas still may apply!

Why don't you have something special sent over from your country or find something here that is from your home? Every time she looks at it, she'll be reminded of you.

Also, try making her a coupon booklet... Make little coupons good for things like doing the dishes, taking out the trash, etc. Those aren't the most fun things to do, but I guarantee she'll really appreciate the extra time she'll get for herself!

Flowers always work, but I guess it kind of depends on what she likes. Does she like to read? You could buy her a book, or a gift card to a book store. Does she like to cook? Maybe you could get her a cookbook? If she likes crafts you could get her craft supplies or a gift card to a craft store. There are a bunch of possibilities - it just depends on how she enjoys spending her time. Maybe you could just cook her a dinner from your home country?
