The new ECW is as fake as the WWE the old ECW was still staged but they gave their wrestler the freedom to show how hardcore they could be. They still took measures to make sure the damage inflicted was minimal but still sometimes the pain was real.

ECW is and was staged just as much as the WWE. But those guys in the old ECW were taking much bigger risks. Going through flaming tables, jumping into the crowd onto concrete, landing on barbed wire.. So that part isn't staged. As much as they plan to do it, it's still real when it happens. As far as moves and ring slamming, that's fake. Other stuff is real

There is some reality to ECW. However, there is a lot of stuff that is....scripted. Those athletes in professional wrestling, are in great shape and have learned to 'fall' correctly to avoid injury. However, ECW is a little more unpredictable when it comes to their action in the ring. I dont care who you are, barbed wire cuts flesh if entangled in it. Going through a table is bound to hurt. Taking a chair shot to the cranium, isn't what I would call an enjoyable experience, but some people are addicted to the pain and the thrill of putting on a show.

It is but it isnt, the moves are very choreographed but if you do the move wrong, either you or the person you are wrestling with could be permantly paralized. So its important for the wrestlers to get it right and of course the story lines are scripted like soap opras. But do realize these men and women put their bodies on the line everytine they wrestle for out entertainment. So these folks deserve our respect. They have had mine since I was little and even when I found out it was quit real, I didnt care, I loved it still. Alot of the wrestlers are on contact and they can only appear where they allowed. Thats why they cant jump to ECW to WWE, two different companies that compete with one another.

ECW is 'staged' just as the WWE is - however, they are taking bigger chances, and they obviously put themselves at risk in doing so.

It's cheorograph but the injuries are real.This type of hardcore matches are dangerous, just ask mick foley about his ear getting ripped off.They spent years training and wrestling so I guess their used to pain.
